Books, Books and more Books!

This summer I have been a reading fanatic! It’s been fun to get to know new characters and stories. One took me to Italy during WWII in From Ash and Sand, one took me to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket as a family struggles during the Summer of ’69, one took me to Utah and the unlikely friendship between a 13-year old girl and an 18 year old boy in Running Barefoot. Another took me to Ireland and some time travel in What the Wind Knows, while another took me to Maine in 1947 during a challenging time to for a family in The Stars Are Fire. The next one took me to the wild west and traveling in a covered wagon in search of a happier life in Where the Lost Wander.  I read mostly at night, but have had some time during the day too. I’ve read while on planes and waiting in the airport. I was lucky to go to the beach and read there. My favorite place is in my bed! No matter where I read, I’m enjoying the escape to these wonderful stories and am often sad at the end of the book. It’s nice to get to know them and see where their journey takes them. I often wonder what happens next. Pick up one of these awesome books or others your friends recommend. Get lost in one if only for a few hours before you go to bed or while your child is napping. It is nice to have a little time to yourself!
