French 75 for 1 or a crowd
- Recipe for 1
- 1 lemon, juiced and strained – 1/2 oz needed for the cocktail
- 2 oz champagne, I used a canned and it was great!
- 1 oz gin
- 2 dashes simple syrup
Juice your lemon and strain out all of the pulp and seeds. Reserve the juice.
To make the simple syrup: Heat 1 cup of water and pour in 1 cup of granulated sugar. Mix until the sugar is dissolved and let it cool. Save the rest for other drinks or for your hummingbird feeder!
I recommend using a can of sparkling for this French 75 for 1. There are plenty of ingredients for 2, but it’s better than opening a bottle of sparkling and not drinking it in a timely fashion. You don’t want to waste it!
Mix together 1/2 oz lemon juice, 2 oz sparkling or champagne, 1 oz gin and 2 dashes of the simple syrup. You can shake it with some ice to chill it or put in a couple of large ice cubes for a few seconds and then fish them out.
You can serve it with a lemon twist and sugared glass rim if you desire to dress it up!
It’s refreshing and delicious!
Recipe for a Crowd:
- 2 cups gin
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4 cup simple syrup
- 1 bottle of sparkling or champagne
Mix all together and put into a beverage canister or server. Put in a large ice block to keep it chilled!
If you don’t like gin, use Vodka, but call it a French 76!
